Blu Did It Again

I already posted some videos by Buenos-Aires based street artist Blu. And again he impressed me with one of his new motionpaintings he did in collaboration with David Ellis who lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
Entitled COMBO this video again produces the dense impression we know from pieces like MUTO. It's impressive how Blu and Ellis conduct the interaction between the imaginative paintings in a state of continuous transition, the spaces of urban dementia those living images are taking possession of and the playfully developing narrative layer supported by a minimalistic and well-directed sound-design. ... read

I consider this series an important addition to the content I usually post here as these interviews are intended for introducing you to attitudes of other creatives who work in the manifold fields of visual arts.Focusing on topics like design process, the role of the author in the different fields of visual culture and the people's personal sources of inspiration, a set of defined questions will allow to compare and contrast the diverse interviewees' attitudes due to concrete and briefly outlining statements.

Graduate Exhibition of the Academy of Art and Design in Basel

Finally - and hard to believe - the opening of my own Graduate Exhibition is near. A good reason to advise you of the possibility to see the results of the thesis projects my fellow students and me were working on for the last few months.
From Friday, September 4th to Sunday, September 13th all graduates (BA and MA/MFA) of the Academy of Art and Design UAS Northwestern Switzerland will show their projects at the Exhibition Center Basel, Hall 3. Our Visual Communication Institute will be just one of the represented disciplines the academy provides courses of studies in – like Interior Design and Scenography, Fashion Design or Fine Art.
So if you are interested in exploring the output of young creatives or you just want to see my tower installation with your own eyes, you are heartly invited to stop by. And don't forget to join the party after the vernissage! read
